The in the car viewpoint gives the greatest sense of speed as well as of being in the car. ![]() ![]() Additionally, the game was a straight port of its arcade parent, with nothing new for home gamers to enjoy. However, Daytona USA on the Saturn suffered from a lack of multiplayer options, poor framerate, and almost-criminal levels of terrain pop-up. The racer first came home on the Sega Saturn a year later, as one of the launch titles for that system. Originally released in arcades in 1994, Daytona remains a popular mainstay in the present day, mostly due to the fact that the arcade cabinets can be linked, allowing up to eight players to race against each other. Because the four track theme variations aren't named, they can't be counted as officially named even though if they were given an official name it would probably just be the in-game initials like all of the other tracks.PlanetDreamcast | Games | Reviews | Daytona USA 18 through 40 are officially named on the B-univ*DAYTONA USA album, and the four short versions of each track theme are part of the 19th track, "All of Name Entry" on the Let's Go Away The Video Game DAYTONA USA Anniversary Box, which is just a collection of all of these tracks. Please note that tracks 04.2, 07.2, 10.2, 13.2 and 18 through 40 are short jingles that play after entering your name (should you actually do well enough in a race to do so) as the initials given as the song title. There's only a few full tracks in the game, but they're already incredibly catchy in their own right and provide the perfect atmosphere for a high-paced game like Daytona USA. In fact, most people probably remember the music in this game just because of its incredibly Engrish vocals, but Mitsuyoshi's voice adds some sort of strange charm to the soundtrack that makes it even better. Takenobu Mitsuyoshi sure is an interesting fellow not only did he compose the music to the game, he also provides the lyrics to each of the songs. ![]()
